Switch 2 Lite Leak: Mysterious OSM Code on Nintendo Account Site Sparks Rumors
Nintendo’s reputation as one of the most tight-lipped companies in gaming has slipped over the last few years. With several leaks coming out well ahead of official announcements, with the Nintendo Switch 2 one of the worst kept secrets in recent years, known about well before any official reveal.
Coming From the Inside
This time, the latest leak is coming from their own website. With a possible new Nintendo Switch 2 model leaking online. Thanks to Bluesky user @dootsky.re who pointed out "On Nintendo's Account Portal, there's an unused model code under the name"OSM ". (The Switch 2's model code is BEE.)"
The OSM does return an image of a Nintendo Switch 2, which is not a random placeholder, as trying other combination strings on the company’s website returns an error message. Though the image generated is the standard Switch 2 model, any speculation about it being a new model is incorrect (for now).

With Nintendo recently hinting at the possibility of a Nintendo Switch 2 Lite, with president Shuntaro Furukawa saying earlier this month that the company has a desire to make the system more accessible to people "who pick up their first console when reaching a certain age." The fact an unused model code exists has of course ramped up the speculation even more.
The recent RAM shortages and price hikes could be the deciding factor in any new console going forward, as the ability to price the Switch 2 Lite cheaper than the standard Switch 2, might be impossible if the RAM situation continues.
Do you think a Nintendo Switch 2 Lite is coming or is this just a website error that people will read too much into? If you want to stay up to date on all things gaming, make sure to join our Discord, TheGamerzTheory.
