ARC Raiders Is Getting Multiple New Maps in 2026, Confirms Embark Studios
ARC Raiders – Maps, Maps, and More Maps
The extraction shooter from Embark Studios has been on fire, with fans jumping in on the hottest title, reaching 12 million in sales. After the studio returned from a much-needed rest, fans are curious: what’s next for their new favorite extraction game? The answer is: maps, maps, and more maps. That’s according to design lead Virgil Watkins, who spoke with GamesRadar about what’s next for ARC Raiders and how the team plans to keep players engaged. Watkins mentioned a 10-year vision for the game, but we’ll have to wait and see how that unfolds.
The latest map, Stella Montis, was added back in November. This map is built with much tighter corridors and is designed for PvP, in contrast to the wide-open locations players experienced when the game first launched. Stella Montis puts players in a more confined space for intense encounters.

The future looks promising for ARC Raiders, but to keep the raiders going, more content is needed. Watkins notes that new maps aren’t just “new maps” - they are opportunities to create entirely new experiences. This means fresh map conditions, enemy types, and compositions. Introducing a new map allows the team to bring in new blueprints, quests, and loot, keeping raiders on their toes.
Watkins confirmed one thing:
“There are going to be multiple maps coming this year, and I think it's going to be across a spectrum of size to try to facilitate different types of gameplay. So, you might see some that are smaller, and you might see some that are even grander than what we've got now.”
When asked about the balance of PvE versus PvP - referring to Stella Montis’s long hallways and its less friendly design - would Embark lean more toward one or the other?
“That's certainly a consideration that goes into it,” Watkins says. “When you create a dense interior that's sort of spider nest-y, it's going to evoke that, right? Certainly, the style of play, or the predominant play that's going to happen there, is a factor in that.”
There are many ways Embark could take the next step with their map design. What we do know is that the next event, supposedly releasing next week, is called “Toxic Swamp.” We’ll have to wait and see what that entails when it arrives. Did you get all your candleberries from the Flickering Flame event?
