The atmospheric cyberpunk action‑platformer has been on everyone’s radar since its announcement back in 2021. After a few delays, Sad Cat Studios—the developer behind the hyper‑pixelated title - released a slice of the game during Steam’s Next Fest event, showcasing what fans can expect ahead of its full release on April 14, 2026.

Fans poured in to experience the demo, which earned an 89% positive rating on Steam. This was followed by 185,000 players trying the demo, and Sad Cat Studios saw its wishlist count jump to 850,000.

REPLACED is a 2.5D cinematic action‑platformer featuring a stunning pixel art style and an intense thriller narrative. Set in 1980s America, the world has been reshaped by a nuclear catastrophe as you struggle to survive. Players will uncover the secrets behind the Phoenix Corporation, embarking on a journey through a society pushed to the brink of destruction, where the fight for power turns human life into a traded currency. You play as an AI trapped in a human body.
