PlayStation May Ditch PC Ports: Single-Player Exclusives Like Wolverine Staying PS5-Only
PlayStation appears to be stepping back from PC gaming as the battle for exclusives returns.
There has always been one main reason to purchase a PlayStation: its exclusives. Sony has long maintained a vast library of exclusive titles. Recently, however, we’ve seen Xbox bring its first-party titles to PlayStation and Nintendo, while PlayStation has also begun to open up. Helldivers 2 made its way to Xbox, and more first-party titles have become available on PC. About a year after their PlayStation releases, Spider-Man, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn / Forbidden West, and Ghost of Tsushima all became playable for PC players.
Now, according to Jason Schreier, those plans may have changed. PlayStation appears to be stepping back from the PC market, meaning players who want to play titles like Wolverine, along with other single-player first-party games, may need to purchase a PlayStation console to do so.
The news first broke during the Triple Click podcast, where Schreier mentioned the change:
"I think for them, their strategy is like, live service games are coming to PC. But I think the sense I'm getting is that they're backing away from putting their exclusive console stuff like traditional single-player stuff on PC."
Schreier further explained on ResetERA:
“I mean, it’s not speculation, but sometimes topics come up on the show before I’m quite ready to publish a story about them. More to come soon, I’m sure.”

We can also look to Ghost of Yotei, which released on October 2, 2025. With the upcoming Legends addition, now would have been the perfect time to release the game on PC. However, there has been no word from Sony about a PC release.
Is this the end of PlayStation’s single-player games coming to Steam and the Epic Games Store?
