ARC Raiders Player Count: Decline After Peak, But Still Top 4 on Steam

Arc Raiders got its latest update last week, with the removal of PvP feats stealing the show, along with plenty of new content. As Arc Raiders nears the end of its fourth month on the market, some have pointed out that over the last month the player count has been slowly declining.

On January 4th, Arc Raiders sat at 466,372 players, only 20k below its all-time peak just a week after the game's release. Since then, the player count has in fact started to dwindle, even if just a little, with the peak reaching 280,639 on February 22. Of course, we have yet to see new numbers following the Shrouded Sky update that launched only days ago.

The game, despite its ‘decline’, still sits at #4 in the most played games on SteamDB currently for both the current and 24-hour peak player count. The reality is most likely the most obvious, albeit boring, explanation: New Game isn't new anymore. For those unfamiliar with SteamDB and its player charts, if you are a game not named Counter-Strike, DOTA 2, or PUBG, you will see ebbs and flows in your player count as the newness slowly wears off.

Where do you think Arc Raiders will end up as the new factor wears off? Does it have long term staying power like the titans of Steam or is the end somewhere on the horizon? Let us know in the comments and come join us in the GamerzTheory Discord.
