Highguard's Shocking Collapse | Now The Website Goes Dark
It seems Highguard’s struggles continue, as the latest news comes from Wildlight Entertainment’s own website.
Highguard, which was featured as the ending trailer reveal at The Game Awards, unfortunately the game came and went in a flash. Fans eagerly jumped into the game, reaching nearly 100,000 concurrent players at launch, but numbers quickly fell below 10,000 just after the first week. Now, the player count hovers around only 1,000. However, the sad news doesn’t end there. With too few players to raid the world of Highguard, Wildlight Entertainment quickly laid off most of their team.

Currently, the game’s website appears to be down to continue the games sturggles. Wildlight Entertainment’s social media accounts haven’t posted an update since their last technical update on February 12th. There were seasons planned, but now this seems very unlikely. In a post by Stephen Totilo, it was revealed that Wildlight Entertainment was fully funded by none other than the gaming giant Tencent. The team had the backing, but the players didn’t appear to connect with the game. The team is now much smaller compared to launch, stating they will focus on support and innovation for the game, though now it appears all but finished.
