Directive 8020: A Dark Pictures Game Releases May 12, 2026 on PS5, Xbox, PC

SuperMassive Games has announced that Directive 8020: A Dark Pictures Game is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on May 12, 2026. Preorders are available now with a chance to upgrade to the Digital Deluxe Edition free of charge.

With Earth dying, humanity is running out of time, as Directive 8020 puts players on the crew of the ship Cassiopeia, set to explore Tau Ceti f, a planet 12 light years away that could be the last chance of survival. After crash landing, it is clear the crew is not alone and must outsmart an alien organism capable of mimicking its prey to make it back home.

Take control of five crew members during the expedition as you work to outsmart the alien threat. Be careful. Every action has consequences: A trapped crew member crying for help behind a locked door could be human, or something else and what you decide to do will have a lasting impact.

A new feature coming to Directive 8020 is Turning Points, which allows players to rewind key decisions, whether you want to uncover every possible outcome, or save a beloved character. The choice is yours.
