State of Azeroth: Midnight Expansion Details, Housing Success & Classic Roadmaps
Blizzard kicked off the studio’s 35th anniversary with their State of Azeroth. In it Executive Producer Holly Longdale, broke down the future of the three current versions with ongoing content. World of Warcraft's newest feature housing has been a hit success, with players spending over 450 real life years (4 million hours) on the feature so far.
For those out of the loop World of Warcraft currently has three versions with content releasing, starting with Retail. Retail is the current version of the game with the new expansion Midnight releasing February 26th for those who purchased early access, with a full release on March 2nd.
Retail will have season 1 kick off a couple weeks after March 2nd, with a pair of raids the 6-boss Voidspire and the single boss Dreamrift mini-raid. As well as the usual Mythic+ season, and PvP season. A 2-boss raid zone March of the Quel’Danas is scheduled for a few weeks after Season 1 begins.
After that Retail will get a new lighthearted “Prop Hunt” 5v5 mini game coming in Patch 12.0.5, as well as the introduction of Void Assaults in the outdoor world, and an additional one boss raid in 12.0.7.
12.1 will be the next major content update, with new raids, dungeons, and a complete overhaul to the Friend System. Finally patch 12.1.5 will release alongside Blizzcon adding a small narrative raid, as well a new mode from the creators of Plunderstorm and a new WoW remix version.
WoW Classic has been split into two different versions, Progressive Classic as it is called is currently in Mists of Pandria, and was given a roadmap for the rest of the expansion, with notably no new content listed at the moment.

Anniversary Classic which was a re-release of original WoW, (again again) is about to move onto the The Burning Crusade Expansion, going live on February 4th, also got a roadmap for the expansion, with it being notable shorter previous versions, slated to last just 7.5 months with no future content listed either.

Blizzard also promised big news at this year's BlizzCon, September 12th, so for those hoping for more plus news will have to wait seven more months.
