MindsEye New Mission Will Include 'Evidence' of Sabotage Claims Build A Rocket Boy CEO

Build a Rocket Boy is adding a new mission to the latest game, MindsEye, and claims that the new mission will contain evidence backing up their real-world claim of sabotage after the game’s release. CEO Mark Gerhard, in an interview with GamesBeat, said the new mission will add a playable female character, with Gerhard stating,

“We’re also using that to share some of the evidence of the sabotage with the community.”

Gerhard had been adamant even weeks before the game's release that there was financial backing behind those who were negatively reacting to the game. Despite MindsEye publisher IO Interactive’s CEO downplaying any such ideas, Gerhard has pressed up and now says that the case is in the authorities hands.

We’ve got very strong evidence of this and conducted quite thorough investigations over the months since launch. We’ve identified parties involved, and it’s now with the authorities both UK and US to deal with. I can confirm that they’re assisting us with this investigation, but it’s also in their hands now. We’ll leave them to do what they do, make their arrests or any announcements in due course. I think we’re not saying anything further at this stage on that. We’ll just let the natural course of justice take its path.

Just last month, Build a Rocket Boy confirmed a round of layoffs, in addition to IO Interactive announcing that their publishing collaboration had ended.

We reviewed MindsEye earlier this year. The game was released in 2025 to numerous bugs and performance issues, with the PlayStation Store even offering refunds for the game.
