Nintendo Direct: Super Mario Galaxy Movie Exclusive Look This Sunday - Yoshi Reveal Coming?

Nintendo has confirmed their first direct of 2026 will not be video game-related, instead announcing that this Sunday there will be another direct for the upcoming The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

As highlighted in their tweet, "Please note that no game information will be included in this presentation." Meaning the direct will relate solely to the movie, which is set to be another Nintendo smash hit as it is the sequel to their billion-dollar box-office hit, The Super Mario Bros.

This will be the second direct dedicated to the upcoming movie, set to hit theaters on April 3rd, as the first one in November 2025 introduced us to a pair of new characters. Rosalina, played by Brie Larson, and Bowser Jr. played by Benny Safie. While no information is known yet about the upcoming direct, a recent collaboration with Pilsbury gave a first look at Yoshi’s design for the movie. Could this direct be a full Yoshi reveal?
