Terminal War’s Secret 4th Faction ‘The Scene’ Revealed: Not Zombies, But Unpredictable & Dangerous"

We have exclusive story details on Terminal War, thanks to co‑founder Alec Favale, who alludes to one more faction that has yet to be revealed. Below, we have the full details.

Once again, during this week’s episode of Theory Unlocked, we were able to sit down with Albatross Interactive’s co‑founder, Alec Favale, to discuss his upcoming game. During the conversation, we learned how Alec and his team plan to tell a story amid an ongoing, brutal war set within a 4v4 multiplayer third‑person shooter.

Telling a story in this format will certainly be a challenge, but the team plans to begin with external lore that helps set up the misfortune of events leading into the players’ beginnings in Terminal War.

“We want to introduce environmental storytelling - so maybe some graffiti on a map or experimenting with some mechanics of picking up lootable lore, something that people can read in a different menu that doesn’t distract them from the game.”

During this discussion about the game world’s storytelling, we also learned of another faction coming to the game. Just how and when this faction will be implemented has yet to be decided. However, Alec didn’t want to dive too deeply into this mysterious group, though we were able to squeeze a bit of information out of him.

“Right now you can’t play as this faction, they’re not zombies, but - screw it - they call themselves ‘The Scene’ and why they call themselves the scene I think is pretty interesting, what they look like I think is pretty interesting. And how you might encounter them in the future, that’s something that we’ll decide after launch.”

Alec wouldn’t go into much more detail, other than clarifying that they aren’t zombies. “But if you were to face them, it’s not a symmetrical fight. We’d be facing something that’s a little more unpredictable and more capable.”
