GTA 6 Price Leak? CEO Says In-Game Ads Unfair in $70-$80 Games
GTA 6 has been one of the most hyped upcoming releases for years now, and with the game set to release this November, people have been speculating on the price of the game for a while. Some believe the game could smash the industry standard of $70 and start a new triple digit standard, with beliefs the game might be set at $100.
In a recent interview with The Game Business, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick was asked about real-life ads in games, something that NBA 2k has already started doing. Zelnick pointed out that it makes sense in NBA 2k as real-life ads help mimic a real stadium, before stating;
“Very difficult for me to believe that we would want to have interstitial advertising in a game that someone paid 70 or 80 bucks for would seem unfair.”

While Zelnick did not mention GTA 6 by name, the answer does seem to indicate that GTA 6 will not have any real-life ads in the game. The fact he did focus on $70-$80 games could be an indicator that GTA 6 will remain much closer to the standard price than some have anticipated.
So far, Take-Two has done everything they can to keep anything from GTA 6 leaking, from potential delays of the physical edition to prevent copies getting out before release day, to the price of the game still remaining unconfirmed with only months left until release.
