Arc Raiders Wrongfully Bans Quadriplegic Player Using QuadStick Accessibility Controller

Accessibility Feature in Arc Raiders Sees Player Wrongfully Banned Through No Fault of Their Own

One Arc Raiders fan has been banned after over 300 hours of gameplay for something completely out of their control. Reddit user doyoulikePRIMERIB shared their frustrating experience after being permanently banned from Arc Raiders, posting the in-game message they received:

“Your account has been suspended for behavior that violates our code of conduct.
Due to the severity of your violation, access to your account will not be restored.”

What Arc Raiders failed to take into account is that doyoulikePRIMERIB uses a QuadStick - a device that allows quadriplegic players to play games using a sip-and-puff mouth controller. They were not cheating, which is what the permanent ban was most likely based on.

At The Gamerz Theory, we fully support banning cheaters; however, this does not appear to be the case here. Instead, this is someone facing life’s challenges head-on, using an incredible accessibility device that allows them to enjoy gaming just like anyone else.

Accessibility features are often difficult to implement in the video game industry, though significant progress has been made over the past few years. Hopefully, this matter will be resolved for doyoulikePRIMERIB, allowing them to return to gaming with their friends.

In the meantime, some quality gaming time has been spent playing Hollow Knight and Marathon. Still, they hope to return to the game they purchased for three of their friends and themselves, continuing their journey together across the Rust Belt.
