Kena: Bridge of Spirits Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 This Spring
Ember Lab, the California-based independent developer, announced that Kena: Bridge of Spirits will launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 this spring. Kena: Bridge of Spirits originally launched on PlayStation platforms and PC back in September 2021, and won several awards at the 2021 Game Awards including Best Independent Game and Best Debut Indie Game.
Ember Labs put out a statement on the upcoming release from Josh Grier, Chief Operating Officer at Ember Lab:
We’re incredibly excited to bring Kena’s journey to a whole new audience, giving players the chance to experience her story at home or on the go with Nintendo Switch 2. As our studio’s debut title, the overwhelming support and love the game has received over the years has truly meant a great deal to our team. We’re beyond thrilled that even more players will now be able to fully immerse themselves in Kena’s world and become part of her journey.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version will include the Anniversary DLC, featuring Charmstones, Spirit Guide Trials, Kena Outfits, and accessibility features. There will also be a New Game+ mode, allowing players to restart their journey with all previously unlocked abilities, upgrades, outfits, Rot, and more, as well as redesigned and more challenging combat encounters.

In February’s State of Play, Ember Lab announced a sequel called Kena: Scars of Kosmora, which is set to launch later this year on PlayStation and PC (Steam). One major chance is that Scars of Kosmora will be published by PlayStation Publishing, unlike the first title which was self-published, so a future Xbox or Nintendo release is unlikely.
