Resident Evil Requiem: Fastest-Selling RE Game Ever With DLC On The Way
Resident Evil Requiem continues its extremely successful launch. After rocketing up to the top spot all time on Metacritic for User Score, the game has already sold 5 million copies, making it the fastest-selling title in the legendary series.
The 5 million copies in 5 days, make it the top-selling RE game ever according to renowned leaker Dusk Golem. The previous record was Resident Evil 6, which clocked in at 4.5 million copies sold in one week.
While the base game is already setting records, more content is still to come, as there is at least one yet to be announced DLC in the works for the game. Which will reportedly feature Leon S. Kennedy, not Alyssa Ashcorft as was previously speculated according to Dusk Golem. Speaking on X Dusk Golem, who had originally said Alyssa had been playable at one point in development, talked about the shift in the DLC.
However, more recently I’ve been hearing a few times on the grapevine now there’s likely a Leon DLC. I do not know the scope of RE9’s DLC outside of it existing, but I can take some educated guesses. Nakanishi said there would be stuff to keep people playing RE9 long after the main story was complete.

Dusk Golem went on to say that a number of segments were cut from Leon’s portion of the Resident Evil Requiem, and believe those could be repurposed as DLC. One area in Raccoon City would have allowed players to drive freely in a large environment, according to Dusk.
