Resident Evil Requiem Tied for Highest-Rated Game Ever with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Resident Evil Requiem has had quite the release, as the game now stands as one of the greatest games ever according to Metacritic.
Based on User Scores, the Capcom title, which released February 27, boasts a 9.5 rating from players, tied with Clair Obsur: Expedition 33 for the highest rated game of all time by users. Resident Evil surpassed some of the greatest classics in gaming, such as Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Silent Hill, and, of course, Disney's Cory in the House (iykyk).

The pair of Expedition 33 and Resident Evil sitting atop the list could be the next era of gaming is upon us, as previously not a single game from the 2020s had cracked the top 10. Only 5 games from the decade even cracked the top 20, with Ghost of Tsushima, Baldur's Gate 3, and Stellar Blade placing 17,19, and 20 respectively.
As for the games Metascore of 89, it barely edges out Pokémon Pokopia and Mewgenics for best release of 2026 so far, according to the site.
