Valve Deadlock Update Sparks New Half-Life 3 HLX Leak – Is It Real?

Here we go again. For once, can Valve put the speculation to rest as more suspicions arise about the development of Half-Life 3?

This follows a report from TweakTown. The latest news, spreading to even the faintest of hopeful fans, comes from a new Deadlock update. Dataminers have discovered, within the Deadlock code, more details about the “HLX” project and its tools.

This newfound hope is once again swirling fans into a frenzy, with HLX referencing internal Half-Life 3 code. Fans believe the game will be a launch title and be the system seller when Valve officially reveals the launch date for the Steam Machine.

Insider Gabe Follower found the HLX code and shared it on X.

Keeping the hope alive has begun to put players in despair, with one user on X asking Gabe to stop posting about HLX. They stated that HLX is a reference to modernizing Valve’s online live-service games, and has nothing to do with Half-Life 3 at all.

What do you think? Will Valve ever reveal what fans have been asking for, decades later, when the Steam Machine launches? Let us know in the comments below.
