Xbox New CEO Asha Sharma's Xbox Profile Sparks Suspicion: Boosted Achievements, Fake Gamerscore?
Xbox made headlines over the weekend when Phil Spencer announced he was retiring, with his replacement Asha Sharma already announced. Sharma shared her Xbox profile and the internet already has a lot of questions about the profile that was created just a month ago.
While for now it is fair to assume Sharma’s profile is legit, there are some interesting entries, such as 100% in Firewatch and Ball x Pit, with her putting 43 hours into Ball x Pit in a single week, during a transition that you would expect to be quite busy for someone being promoted to CEO. In addition the account has several rare Minecraft achievements in only twelve hours of play time which caused some suspicion.

Some believe that Sharma’s account is being boosted artificially to create some ‘street cred’ with gamers. With fans theorizing that the scores are buffed by easy to gain achievements, or achievement servers in games like Minecraft.
Fans have also pointed out that the bulk of the hours on Sharma’s account have been in Xbox’s biggest titles such as Halo, Forza, Fallout, and Borderlands most recently. Perhaps what is causing all the controversy is Sharma herself admitting she ‘just started touching games.’ On the contrary, after a fan recommend Borderlands 2, the account was playing the game within hours of the comment.
Of course Sharma who has no gaming experience prior to this Xbox account with most of her background rooted in AI was always going to be a target for players upset over the recent transition. For now while the theory has pointed out some odd occurrences its safe to assume its a nothing burger, it will be fun to see what the account produces in the weeks following Sharma's promotion.
