Xbox Game Pass Changes Coming? More Bundles, Possible Tier Mergers
Could Xbox change their Game Pass services once again? According to Tom Warren of The Verge, the Netflix-like service for Xbox is rethinking some of its service plans. Xbox Game Pass recently saw changes with the addition of a third-tier model to the platform, which also caused confusion among fans regarding the service.
Currently, Xbox Game Pass features three models: Xbox Game Pass Essential, starting at $13.99 a month; Xbox Game Pass Premium at $17.99 a month, which adds over 150 games to the service and the benefit of Xbox-published titles within the first year of launch for consoles and PC; and lastly, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for $33.99 a month. Clearly, Ultimate is on the pricier end, but it grants fans Xbox first-party titles on day one, along with a multitude of extra features.
Now, it appears that Xbox could be making more changes to the subscription service. One possible change Microsoft is considering is the possibility of bundling more third-party services with Game Pass subscriptions. Currently, users with Game Pass Ultimate have access to Ubisoft+ Classics, EA Play - a service that has been featured for years - and, recently, Fortnite Crew.

Microsoft doesn’t appear to be stopping there, however. The current second tier - Xbox Game Pass Premium - which doesn’t feature cloud gaming offerings, could see a change as well. Although Tom states not to expect to see it this year.
What this means for the Premium pricing structure remains to be seen. But as Xbox begins ramping up for their rumored PC-console hybrid model in 2027, these changes do line up. But at what cost to fans?
Let us know in the comments below what you think if Microsoft makes more changes to what fans already consider a higher-than-expected price for the service.
