Hades II Console Release Date: April 14 on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 & Day One Game Pass
Hades II is finally coming to consoles. The sequel to Hades II which follows Melinoë, sister of Zagreus, who is attempting to save the Underworld from the Titan of Time. Announced first at the Xbox Partner Preview and then shortly after by Sony, Hades II will release April 14th for Xbox Series X|S and PS5 and will be available day one via Xbox Game Pass.
The version coming to Xbox will include all post-launch content patches released for other platforms, including additional quality-of-life improvements and bonus content.
The long-lost sister of Zagreus, the first game's protagonist, Melinoë gives a nod to those who played the first title while also standing out on her own. Melinoë has longer dashes than her brother, and can sprint. Melinoë focuses much more on controlling enemies, positioning them where you want to take them down with your powerful attacks, rather than dashing and twitching the way Zagreus did.
Similar to the first title, Hades II has a focus on different weapon types, giving each player the ability to create their own style, with the Nocturnal Arms ranging from blades to axes, to a range of different forms, allowing players to experiment with whatever suits their playstyle the best.
Unlike Zagreus, who had one objective: to make it out of the Underworld, Melinoë has a pair of objectives, not only to take down Cronos, the god of time, in the Underworld, but also to ascend a beleaguered Mount Olympus. Giving players a choice every single run on which objective they would rather push towards completing first, each with a different requirement to beat.
