Borderlands 4 Switch 2 Port Paused Indefinitely – Take-Two Confirms Development Halt
During yesterday’s earnings call with Take-Two Interactive, the company revealed an updated list of titles set for release in its quarterly report. However, one title was removed from the list: the latest title from Gearbox - Borderlands 4 - coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 had been deleted from the list.
In a statement shared by Take-Two spokesperson Alam Lewis with Variety, the following was said:
“We made the difficult decision to pause development on that SKU. Our focus continues to be delivering quality post-launch content for players and ongoing improvements to optimize the game. We’re continuing to collaborate closely with our friends at Nintendo. We have ‘PGA Tour 2K25’ and ‘WWE 2K26’ coming out for Nintendo Switch 2, and we’re incredibly excited about bringing more of our titles to that platform in the future.”

Gearbox’s latest looter shooter is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The planned port for Switch 2 was originally set for October, then delayed until September. Now, it appears the port was a tougher challenge than expected and has been cancelled altogether. Sorry, Switch 2 fans.
