Cyberpunk 2 Officially in Pre-Production: CDPR Confirms Sequel Progress + 35M Sales Milestone

CD Projekt released Cyberpunk 2077 back in 2020. Although the launch did not go according to plan, the studio focused on releasing several patches to bring the game to its current state. With the release of Cyberpunk 2.0 and the Phantom Liberty DLC, Cyberpunk 2077 became a whole new experience for fans.

During the 2025 financial report, Chief Financial Officer Piotr Nielubowicz revealed that CDPR studios in Boston and Vancouver, with support from developers in Poland, have guided Cyberpunk 2 past the concept stage and into pre-production.

Cyberpunk 2077 also launched on the Nintendo Switch 2 on its release day, and the game was brought to Mac users as well. These releases contributed to increased sales, bringing the total to 35 million copies sold, with the Phantom Liberty DLC selling 10 million copies.
