EXCLUSIVE - Planet of Lana 3 Confirmed: Wishfully's Next Game Will Be Bigger with More Answers

Planet of Lana II may be finished from the player’s perspective, but there is still a lot left unanswered. After speaking with Wishfully’s Creative Director and Co‑Head of Studio, Adam Stjärnljus, and Planet of Lana II’s Co‑Game Director Klas Martin Eriksson during our Theory Unlocked podcast, we now have a better understanding of what’s coming next for the studio - Planet of Lana III.

Planet of Lana II is a 2.5D cinematic puzzle‑adventure game that continues the story of Lana and her companion, Mui. The game features a stunning hand‑painted world and focuses on environmental puzzles, companion‑driven gameplay with Mui, and emotional, dialogue‑free storytelling set in a world of uncertainty. Adam described Planet of Lana as “Limbo and Inside but more colourful and with a Star Wars epic story.”

However, one thing is certain: Lana’s journey is not over yet. When asked whether the team would continue Lana’s story and work on a third game, Adam answered:

“Yeah, indeed. I mean, that is what we want to work on next. But we have other exciting stuff going on as well.”

While Adam didn’t go into further detail about what else the team is currently working on, we do know that Planet of Lana III will indeed be the next game from Wishfully. Klas went on to say, jokingly:

“It will be even bigger and better,” he said with a laugh.

Klas continued by adding that “a lot more answers” will be coming in the next game. Once again, he didn’t go into further detail about what that would entail, but for those who have finished Planet of Lana II, it’s clear that many mysteries still remain - and that more answers are on the horizon for this epic adventure.
