GTA 6 Marketing Starts This Summer | Trailer 3 Incoming? Take-Two Confirms

During today’s Take-Two earnings call, CEO Strauss Zelnick discussed the GTA series, highlighting GTA V’s success and the upcoming release plans for GTA VI. GTA V has sold a total of 225 million units since its launch in 2013. GTA Plus also doubled its sales compared to last year. GTA V continues to perform well, with player engagement for both the campaign and online modes up 27 percent year-over-year.

Zelnick was asked what the company learned from the "A Safehouse in the Hills" update for GTA Online. He responded:

“What we learned from the 'A Safehouse in the Hills' update was that when you deliver great material, consumers show up, and Rockstar always aims to deliver the best possible work.”

He continued, addressing the anticipation for GTA VI:

“I think there is some trepidation among market participants that GTA V or GTA Online might become less relevant. I believe the opposite is true. The anticipation is actually driving even more engagement.”

Zelnick briefly mentioned that the marketing campaign for GTA VI will begin this summer, leading up to the November 19, 2026 release. This summer is expected to mark the debut of the third trailer for the game.

Fans have wondered what is next for GTA Online, and the massive community continues to be supported. The latest DLC, featuring Michael’s return, is proof that a good product will bring players back.

When asked, “How much marketing do you really need to do for GTA VI?” Zelnick replied,

“We are very fortunate that player anticipation for GTA VI is indeed huge. But rest assured, you will be astonished by the creativity that Rockstar’s marketing team will bring to consumers in the coming months.”

When asked about inflation and Take-Two’s approach to consumers, Zelnick discussed entertainment versus revenue:

“We bring way more value than we charge - I think we’re known for that. We’re in the business of entertaining people, not just generating revenue. Revenue comes from entertaining people.”

All of this is building up to the launch of GTA VI and the next glimpse inside the world of Leonida. With summer quickly approaching, Rockstar appears to be on track for the November 19, 2026 release. When do you think Rockstar will drop the third trailer for GTA VI?
