Dune: Awakening Chapter 3 Out Now – Biggest Update Ever: Revamped Endgame, No More Taxes, New Specializations & Raiders DLC
Funcom has launched its biggest update yet for Dune: Awakening Chapter 3. This latest update continues the story from the events of Chapter 2 and sets up the game for a much stronger future. With a newly revamped endgame, new locations, brand-new systems and gear, there has never been a better time to roam the desert landscape of Arrakis.
Many fans have been searching for more content. For those who have yet to try Dune: Awakening, the game launched into early access in June 2025. Early adopters quickly finished the story and began grinding the endgame, but were looking for more to do. Chapter 2 continued the story, exploring political tensions among the houses struggling for power, which was presented through brutal murders as you investigate the victims’ unfortunate demise. Chapter 2 also introduced the Lost Harvest DLC, a standalone piece of content. Those with the Season Pass could investigate a crashed Miner’s Guild spice harvester and add the Treadwheel vehicle to their fleet.
Chapter 3 has revamped many aspects of the game, including a complete redesign of Landsraad, giving players much more to do and more rewards that allow deeper customization of playstyles. Players can now earn Faction Ranks, Great House Standings, and Specialized XP, which introduces five new specializations.
These specializations allow players to focus on their preferred playstyle: Crafting, Gathering, Exploration, Combat, and Sabotage. Progression requires specialized XP that unlocks unique traits, offering bonuses and unlocking entire technologies.

New overland map locations in the Deep Desert present additional opportunities for exploration and rewards, rather than just heading out to the Deep Desert. The map has been revamped with improved visuals and the removal of the Fuel and Water requirements, which previously felt unnecessary. Five new challenges have been introduced, setting up the new Landsraad Missions, all focused on helping you progress in your specialization, Faction Rank, and Great House standing. All of these new Landsraad Missions are completely repeatable.
Chapter 3 brings a new story that continues from previous events, with players fighting through the Neo Carthag Duelling ring, teaming up with allies, and digging deeper into their origin story. New weapons and reworks of previous weapons have been implemented, along with the removal of base taxes, which had been a burden among the community. New rewards and cosmetics, as well as a Return Package for players who have not visited Arrakis in a while, will help returning players get back to where they left off without needing to rebuild everything from scratch. Players can access the Return Package from the escape menu.
With all the new changes coming to Dune: Awakening Chapter 3 today, there is also the latest DLC package – Raiders of the Broken Lands – featuring new cosmetic items:
- 74 Smuggler Building Pieces: Build a practical yet comfortable base on Arrakis with these Smuggler Building Pieces.
- 17 Smuggler Decorations: Add touches of comfort and personality to your hideout with a curated set of Smuggler decor.
