Beyond Good & Evil 2 Survives Ubisoft Bloodbath: Director Confirms Unaffected

Beyond Good & Evil 2 has once again remained alive, somehow, after the recent Ubisoft restructuring. Many thought the game might finally be done for good, but after a spokesperson for Ubisoft confirmed that the game is still a priority for them, within their strategy, centered on open-world adventures. The bow on top is that now creative director Fawzi Mesmar has also reaffirmed that the game is unaffected.

In a post on his LinkedIn, Mesmar did confirm that he, the team, and the game were not affected by the recent changes. In his full statement, he also urged people to support those who were not so lucky. In any way they could:

Thank you for everyone who has reached out to me over the past few days in regards to recent news at Ubisoft.

Myself, my team and our project Beyond Good and Evil 2 are unaffected by the recent changes. I would direct you to the official press release for more information around the latest organisational structure.

Needless to say, I am saddened by the cancellations that has affected my colleagues in other parts of Ubisoft and the industry. I urge everyone – myself included – to offer support whenever and however they can during these times.

We remain committed and focused on delivering a remarkable game for our players to enjoy.

Despite the cancellation of six titles, including the highly anticipated and rumored fully completed Prince of Persia Remake, and delaying seven other titles. Beyond Good & Evil 2 somehow continues its over-decade-long development. With the new model of Ubisoft prioritizing open-world adventures and experiences designed for Games as a Service giving the title another chance.

What year do you think we will finally get to play Beyond Good & Evil 2? Is this move really just delaying an inevitable cancellation down the road after over 10 years in development? Let us know in the comments and make sure to join TheGamerzTheory Discord.
