Bungie’s Marathon Just Leaked Its Release Date

It seems that secrets are hard to keep these days. Bungie’s upcoming extraction shooter, Marathon, just had its release date leaked in an online Xbox trailer.

Marathon has faced a challenging journey so far, with the art director departing not long after plagiarism issues and fan backlash. The game experienced a delay, but recent playtests have led to more positive buzz surrounding Marathon.

According to the trailer, Marathon is set to release on March 5, 2026.

The new trailer presents a much darker tone compared to Marathon’s original, more optimistic vision and brighter vision. When the trailer is officially released, interested players will be able to pre-order the game, including a Deluxe Edition featuring a ‘Midnight Decay Bundle’ with two weapon skins and additional content.

For those unsure about the extraction shooter title, there will be an open beta leading up to launch, allowing players to try Bungie’s next game firsthand. Rumors suggest the beta will arrive toward the end of February.
