Ryan Hurst Cast as Kratos in Prime Video's God of War Series | From Game Thor to Live-Action Lead

KRATOS GOD OF WAR ACTOR HAS BEEN CAST

Prime Video, for those unaware, has the honor of bringing a God of War series to home screens. The company has now revealed who will take on the mantle of Kratos: Ryan Hurst has been cast as the lead protagonist in the upcoming series. The show is currently in pre-production as casting continues.

Hurst is known for playing Opie Winston in Sons of Anarchy and Gerry Bertier in Remember the Titans. He will be transitioning from his role as Thor in God of War Ragnarok to the main man of ash, Kratos. Hurst was nominated for a BAFTA in 2022 for Performer in a Supporting Role in Ragnarok for his performance as Thor.

If Hurst will not be reprising his role as the God of Thunder, who will take on the challenge? Recent reports suggest Olafur Darri Olafsson is currently in discussions to play Thor for the season. The series is set to focus on the 2018 reboot of God of War in the Norse saga and Ragnarok. Season one is in pre-production, with season two already confirmed.
