Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake Leaks: Black Flag Resynced Reuses Skull and Bones Assets
The long awaited and highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag remake is finally on the horizon. A recent discovery that the project, presumed to be called Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, had a domain registered shortly after The Game Awards 2025. Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is hailed as one of the last great games in the franchise with fans excited about a return to the hits, though reports have come out saying the Black Flag Resync will draw on Ubisoft’s recent endeavors.
Original leaks at the time of what became Ubisoft’s heavily memed AAAA, led several to believe what became Skull and Bones was early teasers for a Black Flag remake. Those rumors from years ago are right in a sense: According to Jeux Vidéo Magazine, the Black Flag remake will reuse some assets from Skull and Bones, albeit in subtle ways.

Jeux Vidéo Magazine, also claimed that Black Flag Resynced is being developed in Ubisoft’s new Anvil Pipeline engine, which was used for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, with other leakers claiming that the remake will make use of a dynamic weather similar to the one seen in Shadows with the Atmos system.
Could Black Flag Resynced be the franchise revival that Ubisoft has been looking for in the Assassin’s Creed Franchise? Perhaps the flop of Skull and Bones in a similar genre will help prop up the remake in a better light. As one of the last great Assassin’s Creed titles, there is a lot of pressure riding on a successful remake of Black Flag.
Do you think Black Flag Resynced will be the hit Ubisoft has been looking for in past years? Would a flop mark the end of the Assassin’s Creed Franchise? Join our Discord TheGamerzTheory and let us know.
