Phantom Blade Zero Trailer Hints at Xbox Release in 2027 – Timed PS5 Exclusive Confirmed
Phantom Blade Zero, which finally received a release window - September 2026 - at The Game Awards a few days ago, might have included a clue about its future consoles at the end of the preview. Currently set as a PS5/PC exclusive, eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed a sneaky asterisk at the end of the PS5 exclusive label in the trailer shown during The Game Awards.
At the bottom of the last scene from the preview, there was a small text stating, “Also available on PC. Not available on other consoles until at least 12 months after the release date,” which seems to imply an Xbox release could be coming in 2027. Timed releases are nothing new; the console wars that raged in the 2000s and 2010s have died down in recent years, with Sony and PlayStation taking the lead.
With Final Fantasy XVI paving the way for what were once seen as PlayStation exclusives - launching on Xbox earlier this year - it seems highly likely that Phantom Blade Zero could receive the same treatment. These timed releases almost serve as a way for high-profile games to get a second release window when they come out on Xbox months later, especially if they are able to justify their pre-release hype.
