Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis Leak: 1996 Remake Box Art & Screenshots Spoil TGA 2025 Reveal
While the official reveal is only hours away, we have received a leak of the box art for the new Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis via the ResetEra boards. The leak also included information suggesting that it will be a remake of the first installment of the series, originally released in 1996. A new Tomb Raider game will be announced during The Game Awards 2025 event later today, and the pose in the leak matches the teaser images shared before the event.
Time for One Singular Lara Croft
Crystal Dynamics has officially confirmed that the game is set to unify, in some way, the various Tomb Raider series and the protagonist, Lara Croft. It is unclear whether the leaked remake is in addition to a brand new title or if this is, in fact, the main project that Crystal Dynamics has been working on. The new Tomb Raider game will be developed using Epic’s Unreal Engine 5—a departure from the Foundation engine used in previous titles—and is set to be published by Amazon Games. There are rumors that the new game will share a universe with the upcoming Tomb Raider TV series, with Sophie Turner set to play Lara Croft.
At this time, very little is known about the game, aside from a rumor that it might be an open-world game set in India, where Lara Croft can explore the environments around her. With a teaser promised at The Game Awards later tonight, December 11th (or already aired, depending on when you are reading this), we should soon know just how accurate these leaks are—or if perhaps there is another Tomb Raider game in the works.
