Helldivers 2 x Killzone 2 Bundle Returns Dec 18: FREE for Past Buyers

Killzone has returned! Well sort of, Sony and Arrowhead Studios announced today the return of the Helldivers 2 x Killzone bundle a year after the first attempt left fans angered. Last year the first Helldivers 2 and Killzone crossover had plenty of controversy and the items disappeared without a trace. This time though Arrowhead who in the blog post even admits they heard the feedback hopes they can make fans forget last year’s mishap.

Arrowhead Tries to Make Things Right

Set to launch on December 18th the Helldivers 2 x Killzone will be an official Legendary Warbond, costing 1500 Super Credits, for context, a bundle of 2,100 Super Credits costs $19.99 / £15.99. However Sony did state that any player previously purchased even one Killzone item will receive the entire bundle at no extra cost without the need to spend medals on the new items.

The bundle will contain three new weapons, the StA-52 Assault Rifle, StA-11 SMG, and the PLAS-39 Accelerator rifle. Alongside the weapons will be two new armor sets the AC1-Dutiful with The Strength in Our Arms cape and the AC-2 Obedient, and the Defender of Our Dream cape. The bundle also has new patterns and play titles available to use as well.

Will We Ever See Another Killzone Game?

Perhaps the biggest question though is does this have any impact on a potential revival of the Killzone franchise? Last released in 2013 with Killzone Shadow Fall, for now Guerrilla Games has confirmed in the past they have moved on from the franchise, and while fans can be hopeful that the release of some cosmetics might spark a revival of the franchise, for now the closest you can get to getting back into Killzone is with some Helldivers 2.

Do you think we will ever see another Killzone or will the game be relegated to cosmetic appearances in other Sony titles? Join our Discord and let us know what you think.
