Phantom Blade Zero Release Date Reveal at The Game Awards 2025
Phantom Blade Zero will receive an official release date during The Game Awards on December 11th.
Announced in 2023, the release date for the game was promised for some time in 2025, and The Game Awards’ official X account has confirmed that a world premiere and release date will be revealed live during this year’s event.
Can it follow Black Myth: Wukong’s hype?
Following the overwhelming success of Black Myth: Wukong, hopes are high for Phantom Blade Zero, which is set to release on PS5 and Windows. Publisher S-GAME’s CEO Soulframe Liang credited Black Myth: Wukong for helping Phantom Blade Zero receive more funding, while also stating that the success of Black Myth: Wukong has increased the pressure for this upcoming title.
Built in Unreal Engine 5 and described as the “spiritual rebirth” of the original Rainblood series, Phantom Blade Zero’s early teasers have showcased beautiful visuals and could make the game a must-play for anyone who enjoyed Black Myth: Wukong’s stunning graphics and excellent gameplay.
Where does Phantom Blade Zero fit?
With GTA 6 set for November 2026, any game releasing in the coming year, likely the case for Phantom Blade Zero, will need to nail its release window to maximize its success. With Resident Evil Requiem scheduled for February and 007: First Light a month later in March, how Phantom Blade Zero settles into an already massively hyped 2026 could be the most important aspect of the upcoming announcement.
