Splinter Cell Remake: Sam Fisher Returns in 2026 – Game Director David Grivel Back on Board
Splinter Cell Remake | A Returning Face
Sam Fisher, it’s been a while - at least in terms of having your own title. Ubisoft revealed the team working on the heavily rumored Splinter Cell Remake back in 2021 but has given fans the silent treatment ever since.
Game Director David Grivel, known for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Assassin's Creed Unity, and Far Cry 6, among others, has seemingly returned to the Splinter Cell Remake project.
Grivel’s renewed role is to help bring the remake over the finish line. Recent rumors suggest that Ubisoft plans to release the Splinter Cell Remake sometime in 2026. If true, Ubisoft will have a year full of remake titles, including Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and the not-so-secret Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake, all set for release next year.
All this news about remakes, while Beyond Good and Evil 2 is still in production, may make it seem like Ubisoft isn’t creating anything new. However, the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon series is currently working on its next installment, and Far Cry is receiving a multiplayer title codenamed Maverick, along with a single-player experience, Far Cry 7, codenamed Project Blackbird.
Ubisoft is busy, but are fans really looking forward to three new remakes all set to drop in 2026? Let us know your thoughts on our Discord. Do you want remakes of Splinter Cell, Black Flag, and Prince of Persia? Ubisoft seems to think so.
