Dune Awakening Dev Update: The Good and the Bad!

It’s time for more news and updates about the future of Dune Awakening and the much-requested Base Reconstruction Tool! The team is still working on the finishing touches for the base reconstruction tool, which is currently planned for the next major update, not a hotfix. One update to be aware of is the upcoming server migration. Although it’s not here yet, Funcom has stated they will share their merge plans well in advance so everyone can prepare.

Here’s how it will work:

The team will monitor server populations, and worlds that are empty or have low populations will be marked in-game for closure. Players on these worlds will be able to migrate to their preferred world and sietch, bringing their bases, inventory, character progress, and vehicles with them. Don’t worry if you miss the merge - your character is safe, and you will still be able to migrate later from the game’s main menu. So don’t panic; your getaway base located high within the rock side isn’t disappearing.

New help is on the way for transporting your resources across the desert landscapes. Now that vehicle harnessing is here, players can look forward to the Cargo Container attachment for the Carrier Ornithopter arriving soon. This new addition will help with large-scale material transports across the map. That should help!

Finally, chapter 3?

They didn’t share much, other than to say: stay tuned for December, when we’ll hear more about chapter 3. Funcom said that with the next chapter, players can look forward to more activities for both solo and co-op play, new progression paths, new locations to explore, and the continuation of the main storyline.

Let us know if you’re playing Dune Awakening and if you’re looking forward to the next update. It’s going to be a big one! Hit us up in our Discord.
