Far Cry TV Series Officially Ordered by FX for Hulu/Disney+: Noah Hawley & Rob McElhenney Anthology!

FAR CRY is the next game adaptation coming to television. The team at Ubisoft are currently working on the next installment within the series, likely titled Far Cry 7. We do know the game is codenamed Project Blackbird with it being the singleplayer title and split off with its own game will be Project Maverick, the multiplayer extraction shooter.

The series has planned an anthology series with multiple seasons, each with its own unique location and cast of characters. Look for Far Cry to air on Hulu for those in the US and on Disney+ for everyone else. No set date has been announced. Rob Mac (formerly of Mythic Quest) is set to star in the show.

“Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realised,” Mac said in a statement. “Ubisoft has been remarkably generous, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game worlds ever created. And through it all, my FX family continues to lift me up with their constant belief and support.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game franchise is it’s an anthology,” Hawley added. “Each game is a variation of a theme, the same way each season of Fargo is a variation on a theme. To create a big action show that can change from year to year, while always exploring the nature of humanity through this complex and chaotic lens is a dream come true. I’m excited to partner with Rob and bring our shared irreverent, ambitious sensibility to the screen.”

A note from the Far Cry X, post went on to tease what FX will be bringing to fans of the series saying:

“So uh… remember when we said FARCRY stories always escalate? Yeah. FX took that personally. A brand-new FARCRY anthology series is coming to Hulu with a whole new setting, new cast, and the exact level of chaos your therapist told you to avoid. Good luck out there.”
