James Bond 007: First Light Benefits from GTA 6 Delay | IO Interactive CEO Confirms
Hakan Abrak, the CEO of IO Interactive, says “spring looks really good” during an interview with G.I.biz. With the recent news of Grand Theft Auto VI moving to November next year, many developers, including IO Interactive, are looking forward to releasing their games around the one-time open window left by Rockstar.
“It would be a lie not to say that obviously spring looks really good,” said Abrak. “I want to say in the same breath that GTA 6 is a welcome thing for the industry,” he continued. “I do believe a lot of gamers who maybe haven’t played for a while will get into things again, and generally for the industry as a whole, I think that will be amazing.”
James Bond 007: First Light is IO Interactive’s latest project, launching on March 26, 2025—a timeline that would have been overshadowed by the release of GTA VI. We’ll see a younger James Bond begin his origin story before becoming the super spy we know, famous for being shaken, not stirred. Expect globe-trotting adventures, car chases in the newly revealed Aston Martin Valhalla, and of course, explosions.
James Bond 007: First Light isn’t the only game IO Interactive is working on. They have also announced the reveal of Eminem joining our favorite bald-headed assassin in HITMAN for the next timed Elusive Target on December 1st.
