Aloft Bloom & Blight Update LIVE: New World Gen, Wind Lanes and Life Trees
Aloft: Bloom & Blight Update Expands the Cozy Floating Survival Sandbox
The biggest update yet brings new content, reworked ecosystems, and deeper exploration to Aloft.
Aloft’s biggest update just dropped, expanding the cozy floating island survival sandbox with Bloom & Blight.
The game currently enjoys a “Very Positive” review score on Steam. In Aloft, you and your friends soar the skies in a co-op sandbox survival adventure that embraces a calm and creative atmosphere, quite different from the typical fight-for-survival formula. Set in a world of floating islands, players can transform any island into a skyship, turning the clouds themselves into home. Along the way, you’ll uncover lost knowledge, cure fungal corruption, and brave hurricanes to restore the world’s ecosystem.
Bloom & Blight: What’s New
With the Bloom & Blight update, developers Astrolabe Interactive have improved world generation to create a denser, more dynamic environment for exploration. This stronger foundation will also support future updates, giving players richer adventures as they fly between islands.
Players can now discover ancient ruins, collect adorable critters, upgrade their skyships, and help restore new Life Sapling islands teeming with potential.
Reworked Ecosystems & New Discoveries
The healing system for ecosystems has been completely reworked. Players will now nurture the island’s flora, fauna, and funga, tying perfectly into the Bloom & Blight theme.
The update also introduces:
- Improved travel across the wind lands
- New additions to the tech tree
- Two new forms of corruption: Sportox and Flogade
- Two new weapon tiers: Windstone and Serrated Bone
This overhaul aims to make the game feel fresh and rewarding, addressing early player feedback since Aloft launched into Early Access back in January.
