AMD Would Not Waste Resources If PlayStation 6 Could Be Delayed Claims Leaker

The PlayStation 6 window has been under heavy discussion recently, with the looming global situation having some worried about whether the price, the release window, or both could be affected quite negatively. However, known AMD leaker Kepler_L2 has provided a strong reason on the NeoGAF forums why he believes the system is unlikely to be delayed beyond a late 2027-early 2028 release window.

“You think AMD is gonna waste resources doing validation on something they think will get delayed,"

The leaker went on to like other posts comparing this situation to the PS5 which launched in late 2020, despite a global pandemic. Also noting that the silence from Sony on the PS6 means quite little, as the PS5 was only officially mentioned a year and a half before the release.

Kepler_L2’s thoughts on AMD, come just a few days after we got leaks on potential new guidelines for PS5 Power Saver Mode support and the PlayGo smart delivery system, which both heavily hint at an imminent generational transition.

With the growing prices of components, some have been worried that the PS6 might simply be out of budget. However, Kepler_L2 believes that a $699 PlayStation 6 is still well within the realm of possibility. With the Xbox Project Helix appearing to target a different style of audience than previous systems, Sony could be set up to be the lone remaining home console creator on the market.

What are your best guesses on the price of the PS6? When do you think we will get an official reveal? Give us your thoughts in the comments and then come join the official GamerzTheory Discord.
