Splitgate Dev 1047 Games Reveals New Movement Shooter

1047 Games is back working on a brand-new game, but not Splitgate 3. This time the studio is focusing on a new movement shooter. In a clip recently uploaded to social media, 1047 CEO Ian Proulx talks about a new project that some of the studio’s developers are working on.

In Proulx's words, the game is a movement shooter, akin to Titanfall and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, with playtesting starting soon. He did also confirm that the game is being worked on in addition to Splitgate.

After massive success with Splitgate, 1047 Games has had a number of issues dating back to 2025, when Proul took the stage at Summer Game Fest with a ‘Make FPS Great Again’ cap and an aggressive statement about the upcoming Splitgate 2.

Unfortunately, Splitgate 2 has been a disaster. The game was pulled back to a beta state after the initial release was a dud. It was relaunched again without any traction. After that, it was rebranded as Splitgate: Arena Reloaded, and still failed to move the needle.

The developer went on a rampage, attacking anyone citing the player count for Splitgate: Arena Reloaded, a 744 peak in the last 24 hours for those curious, claiming the player count does not measure fun. This is the first we have heard of what 1047 has been working on since then.

What do you expect from 1047's upcoming title? Can they recapture the magic of the first Splitgate or is this set up to be another failure? Let us know in the comments and come join us in the GamerzTheory Discord.
