Gears of War E-Day Is On Track To Launch In 2026

In a post on news.xbox, Jason Ronald, Vice President of Next Generation Xbox, signaled to fans that Xbox is looking to deliver an incredible lineup of games this year, ranging from Halo to Gears of War.

“Xbox has an incredible lineup of game releases this year, from the return of iconic first-party franchises like Halo and Gears of War, to major titles from our partners across the globe, alongside bold creativity from independent developers like Beethoven & Dinosaur’s Mixtape or Crimson Desert from Pearl Abyss.”

Currently, there are very few official Xbox release dates, with Forza Horizon 6 being the only confirmed title, launching on May 19, 2026. As for Halo Campaign Evolved, rumors suggest a release sometime this summer, with Gears of War E-Day expected in the second half of 2026. Let’s not forget Fable from the Forza Horizon 6 developers, who are releasing two games this year - although Fable is once again rumored to launch sometime in autumn.

With no official release dates for some of Xbox’s tentpole titles, fans should look toward Summer Game Fest for more information as the season approaches. Meanwhile, Rockstar - arguably releasing this generation’s largest title with GTA VI on November 19 - has set the elephant in the room. Developers now know where the industry’s biggest release stands, allowing Xbox and other studios to plan accordingly and avoid getting caught in the wake of the year’s biggest launch.
