PlayStation Playtests This Weekend: Horizon Hunters Gathering & Marathon Server Slam Dates, How to Join

PlayStation is preparing to launch two playtests this weekend for its upcoming live-service games. The company’s ambitious journey into the world of live-service titles has seen PlayStation struggle to maintain a consistent audience.

Can Horizon Hunters Gathering and Marathon be the saving grace this weekend and become the games PlayStation hoped would resonate with its fanbase?

The playtest for Horizon Hunters Gathering begins this Friday, February 27, and runs until March 1. To join the test on PS5 and PC, players can sign up through the PlayStation Beta Program. During this test, players will play solo, with NPCs filling in the rest of the team. Co-op tests are expected to be added in the future, as Guerrilla has confirmed there will be multiple playtests throughout the game’s development. This first playtest will be available at for EU: 7:00 PM-10:00 PM CET and NA: 4:00 PM-7:00 PM PST.

Also joining this weekend’s lineup of playtests is Bungie’s upcoming extraction shooter, Marathon. Bungie will be hosting a Server Slam weekend featuring six Runner Shells, proximity chat, and two zones: Perimeter and Dire Marsh. Players who participate in the Server Slam beginning February 26 to March 2 again on PS5 and PC will be able to unlock rewards that carry over to the full game upon release.

Let us know in the comments whether you’ll be playing Horizon Hunters Gathering or checking out Marathon.
