Ubisoft CEO Reveals: Multiple Assassin's Creed Games, 2 Far Cry Projects, Netflix Series & Watch Dogs Film Update
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot did an interview with Variety recently, and he gave some interesting tidbits about the future, thanks to X user Zephryss, for Ubisoft both in the gaming sphere and upcoming TV productions for some of their hit titles.
With the recent financial reports that Assassin’s Creed, among other titles, had its best year recently, it comes as no surprise that Guillemot said that the Assassin’s Creed brand has several titles in development. Interestingly, he did say it was both for single-player and multiplayer experiences, with a goal to exceed the 30 million players from last year. In addition, Guillemot said that Netflix has greenlit a live-action Assassin's Creed series with cast members already being announced.

Far Cry currently has two promising projects in development according to Guillemot, and FX has officially placed a series order for a Far Cry live-action show.
The recent branding of teams into houses made waves earlier this year, with Guillemot noting that early evidence has shown the new operating model better empowers teams to fully focus on their franchises. Of course, one franchise that took a hit in the restructuring was Prince of Persia, which had a near-release-ready game cancelled, though Guillemot said that brand remains active and plays an important role in the Creative Houses portfolio.
Finally, Guillemot noted that production has been completed on the live-action feature film set in the Watch Dogs universe with New Regency.
Ubisoft appears to have come out the other side after a disastrous last few years. Do you think the company is back to being a titan in the industry or is this just the calm before the storm? Give us your thoughts in the comments and in the GamerzTheory Discord.
