Halo: Campaign Evolved Targets Summer 2026 PS5 Release
Halo: Campaign Evolved, is reportedly set to have the Summer as a target date for Master Chief's debut on the PlayStation. The game, which is a remake of 2001’s Halo: Combat Evolved, will be the first Halo game to launch on a Sony console. With sources telling The Verge that Microsoft is “tentatively targeting [a] release over the summer.”

An official date remains up in the air, with reports that Microsoft is wanting to avoid any conflicts with the highly anticipated release of GTA 6 in November. Halo: Campaign Evolved is fully rebuilding the original Halo from the ground up, at least for the single player. With no multi-player planned for the first foray of the Chief on PlayStation. Though Halo Studios has confirmed this is not just a one-off, stating that the Halo franchise is now on PlayStation going forward.
While no other titles have yet been announced, two members of the Halo: Campaign Evolved development team have said that the game is paving the way to expand the Halo universe. Which at least seems to hint that other games are in the works.
In addition to the Halo news, The Verge also confirmed that Fable is still set to launch in Fall of 2026 as originally planned, and in addition, Gears of War: E-Day is planned for a second half of the year launch. While E-Day has yet to be confirmed for the PS5, it would be a shocking exclusion since the last title in the franchise, Gears of War: Reloaded, hit Sony consoles last year.
