Halo: Campaign Evolved Master Chief Set For Debut on PlayStation in 2026 Remake of Combat Evolved
Master Chief is set to make his long-awaited Sony debut later this year with Halo: Campaign Evolved set for Xbox, PC, and PS5 release. In a recent interview, creative director Max Szlagor, and executive producer Damon Conn, talked about Halo and Master Chief finally making the jump to the long-time ‘rival’ platform.
The pair stated that the goal of bringing Halo to Playstation after all these years was to bring together long-time Halo fans who have always played on Xbox, lapsed fans who may have moved to PlayStation in recent years, and complete newcomers who may never have owned an Xbox console before.

“There are people who have never been exposed to Halo. Maybe they’ve always been on Sony products, switched consoles at a certain point, or just missed it at the time. We want to bring players back together.”
With Szlagor adding: “Halo is best played when we have a large, healthy community. We see this as a way to grow, expand, and reconnect the Halo community.”
Back in 2024 at the Halo World Championships, Halo Studios announced that multiple Halo games were in the works being developed in Unreal Engine 5. Halo: Campaign Evolved is the first of those games, with a release date set for 2026, and announced for Xbox, PS5, and PC.
Halo: Campaign Evolved is a full remake of the campaign portion of the series’ first game, Halo: Combat Evolved. Though the game will contain new content as well, according to Xbox there will be three new story missions, set before the events of the game, focusing on Master Chief and Sergeant Johnson.
