Avowed, the hit action RPG from Xbox and Obsidian, is coming to PlayStation 5 next month on February 17th with a bevy of new features. Announced at the New Game Plus showcase on Thursday, the release will mark the one-year anniversary since the game's release and will include the anniversary update.

The latest in Microsoft’s strategy of releasing games across all platforms, Avowed first hit Xbox and PC last year and now joins PS5 catalogs next month. The anniversary update includes a host of new features including a new Game Plus mode, new races, new weapon types, a Photo Mode, among others.

Speaking during the New Game Plus interview, Obsidian said that the new anniversary update is a “more rounded experience” compared to the original game. Avowed is a first-person fantasy action RPG set in the world of Eora, which was originally introduced in the studio’s Pillars of Eternity franchise. The game was part of a busy 2025 for Obsidian, who also released The Outer Worlds 2 and Ground 2 early access.
