Earlier this week, we talked about the rumored Witcher 3 DLC that was set to release in May 2026 as a way to help pave the way for Witcher 4, with expectations that the new expansion will “kick off the proper marketing campaign for The Witcher 4.” Recently even more details have surfaced about the alleged DLC.

IGN Poland recently revealed that they had known about this upcoming Witcher 3 DLC for some time, and had chosen not to disclose the information until recently. From what they have since leaked, the game will take Geralt and players to a brand-new region of Zerrikania, though players with a love for details might not be too shocked about the choice.

The Clues Were There

The Manticore School is situated in the Zerrikanian desert which is found by Geralt in the Blood and Wine DLC, and many characters have referenced either the school or the desert in the series. Some even speculate that this is where Ciri could take the Trial of the Grasses to become a Witcher before the arrival of Witcher 4.

Could a Dune-style Witcher DLC be the best way to hype up players for Witcher 4? We will see in a few months, as for Witcher 4 the fact the game is still over a year away, with CD Projekt Red confirming no release in 2026, I think the DLC is a good way to build hype besides the endless spam of CGI trailers we sometimes see in other games.
