GTA VI Not Content Complete - Doesn’t Mean Delay
This is the year, according to Rockstar, when fans should be able to play GTA VI in November. The game has not been delayed, and until Rockstar says otherwise, we should remain optimistic about what is easily one of the most anticipated titles of the decade - a game 13 years in the making.
However, many are twisting a journalist’s words to suggest that GTA VI could be delayed again and pushed to 2027. Notice the headline of this article: “GTA VI Not Content Complete - Doesn’t Mean Delay.” Many prefer a clickbait approach, misrepresenting what Jason Schreier actually said instead of listening to his comments during the Button Mash Podcast. So, what did he say?
“The last I’ve heard, it was still not content complete. They’re still finishing things up, finalizing levels, missions, seeing what’s going to make it into the game. They’re still making stuff and will hopefully be done with that soon.”
Schreier continued, sharing his thoughts about the November 19 release date and Rockstar’s potential to meet it:
“It’s really hard to say right now, and I don’t think anyone at Rockstar can tell you with 100% certainty that they will make it out in November. This [November 2026 release] feels a little bit more real than Fall 2025 did.”
Nowhere in Schreier’s comments does he say the game is delayed. He feels the November 2026 release is more likely than the 2025 date. But many have started to panic, while others have posted on X to calm fans’ perceptions of Schreier’s statements.

As pointed out by GameRoll on X, the game is still 10 months away, and with the size of Rockstar’s team, that’s plenty of time to bring the game to the finish line before launch. However, if it’s not ready, that’s completely normal for a game of this magnitude.
Rockstar was still doing motion capture for Red Dead Redemption 2 in June 2018, just four months before its October release. Roger Clark, known for his role as Arthur Morgan, was still recording voice lines in August 2018.
Is a game ever truly ready for launch? No - there is always more to be done. But before hitting the panic button, maybe just wait until Rockstar and Take-Two announce a third delay for GTA VI. With the game already delayed twice, the team is following a similar path to RDR2 before its release. It’s likely GTA VI will do the same.
