Elder Scrolls Online Finally Adds Battle Pass in 2026: Tamriel Tomes, Cosmetics Only
Elder Scrolls Online has just become the most recent longstanding game to finally give in to the battle pass system. Since releasing in 2014, Elder Scrolls Online has been battle pass free, instead using daily login rewards as a way to get players to keep coming back. That all changed with the announcement of the ‘Tamriel Tomes’.

Another Game Goes Battle Pass
In a recent lengthy blog post, ZeniMax Online Studios explained the massive changes coming to Elder Scrolls Online. Arriving on April 2nd of this year, the first Tamriel Tome (battle pass) will begin, known as the Tome of Dawn and Dusk. As is standard with battle pass systems, there will be a free and paid version, while the ‘premium’ version of the Tamriel Tome will have more exclusive rewards. For now, though, the rewards are promised to not offer any player advantage beyond cosmetics.
In addition to cosmetics, players who complete the Tamriel Tomes can expect Consumables (research scrolls, gear upgrade kits), Currencies (Gold Coast Bazaar Trade Bars, Seals), and Collectibles (weapon and skill styles, furnishings). In addition, Endeavors and Daily Login Rewards are being removed in what is being called ‘Season Zero’ with those rewards being ported over to the battle pass.
ZeniMax did note that ESO Plus members will benefit further from the battle pass system; those with ESO Plus will earn Tome Points at a boosted rate and can earn Premium Tome Tokens for free based on their membership purchases.
