007 First Light Delayed to May 27, 2026: IO Interactive Delays James Bond Game for Polish
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Hakan Abrak, CEO of IO Interactive, announced on the 007 First Light account that the highly anticipated title will be delayed slightly, moving its original release date from March 27, 2026, to May 27, 2026.
Abrak explained: “007 First Light is our most ambitious project to date, and the team has been fully focused on delivering an unforgettable James Bond experience, bringing together breathtaking action, globe-trotting, spycraft, gadgets, car chases, and more.” Abrak continued, “This decision allows us to ensure the experience meets the level of quality you, the players, deserve on day one.”
With a slight delay of only two months, players will wait a bit longer for what is shaping up to be another great title from IO Interactive. It has been over a decade since fans last enjoyed a new James Bond game. Do you remember playing 007 Legends back in 2012 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U?
Abrak went on to say that the reason for the delay is to further polish and refine the experience. The game is fully playable from beginning to end, so these additional two months will allow the team to deliver the strongest possible version at launch for fans.
